Cathodic Protection (CP) market leaders, BAC Corrosion Control Ltd (BAC) of Telford, in the UK, is pleased to announce that they have entered into a Technology Transfer Agreement with BGB Projects Ltd (BGB), a well established company specialising in concrete condition monitoring systems.
The products to be transferred will include all designs, software and intellectual property relating to the measurement of corrosion rate and associated parameters (corrosion potential, resistance, temperature and relative humidity) of steel reinforcement embedded in concrete.
The key products are linear polarisation resistance (LPR) probes, which are designed to be either tied into the steel reinforcement and cast into new concrete structures or retrofitted into existing structures. The range of probes and monitoring equipment will be developed and will be manufactured at the existing facility at BAC’s premises in Telford.
The ongoing development will be aided by corrosion and electronics expert Karel Hladky, as well as the BGB directors and well well-known and respected consultants Kevin Davies and John Broomfield.
Mr Tony Gerrard, Managing Director of BAC commented “BAC, being a progressive, forward looking company, is always aiming to become even more competitive throughout our product portfolio across the markets in which we operate. This agreement will undoubtedly allow us to further our aims in the steel in concrete market and the potential is now there for us to tap into and win new project supply contracts as a result of this extension to our product and service portfolio”.
